I’m Neville Hobson, a UK-based communication professional with more than three decades of experience in organisational communication and emerging technologies.

Welcome to Studio6, my online home – a place where I explore how communication, technology, and life’s evolving priorities intersect. Studio6 represents not just a workspace, but a mindset: one focused on exploration, creativity, and alignment.

Today, my focus is on work that matters – exploring how communicators can shape responsible, human-centred approaches to emerging technologies, particularly AI, while strengthening trust, clarity, and connection.

Over the past few years, my perspective has shifted. After decades in the thick of digital transformation and corporate communication, I’ve stepped into a new chapter – one that embraces curiosity, creativity, and a more intentional way of working and living.

In 2024, my wife and I moved to south Somerset, trading the bustle of urban life for a quieter, more thoughtful rural environment. A key part of this transition is my garden studio – a creative hub where I write, podcast, and experiment with the latest digital trends. It’s here that I’ve found a renewed focus not just on work, but on what truly matters.

A shift in priorities

My work today reflects a deliberate move towards alignment over activity.

A key part of that shift is volunteerism and purpose-driven work – contributing my experience to people and causes beyond my traditional career lane, where the reward is meaning rather than money.

I continue to stay actively engaged through:

Co-hosting For Immediate Release, the podcast I’ve produced with Shel Holtz since 2005
Judging digital PR and social media awards, gaining insight into how others are navigating change
Experimenting with AI, new platforms, and creative digital tools as both a practitioner and an explorer

At the same time, I place greater value on time with family, especially my grandkids – recognising that some of life’s most meaningful moments happen offline.
