This Benks Kevlar Case for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is Slim, Stylish and Magnetic
My review of the Benks ArmorVichy Kevlar case for the Galaxy Z Flip 7: slim, stylish and practical – everyday protection without the bulk. With MagSafe compatibility and a Kevlar build, it balances elegance and durability for daily use.

A protective case for any smartphone today is an essential accessory. With high-end models retailing for well over £1,000 / €1,000 / $1,000, it's prudent to protect your investment from scrapes, scratches, knocks and the dreaded accidental drop onto a hard surface.
With the arrival of my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 just after its launch in July, getting a protective case was a no brainer. And I was delighted to receive a new case from Benks, just launched for Samsung's latest flagship foldable, in order to use it and review it.
In this review, I discuss how Benks' ArmorVichy case for the Z Flip 7 stacks up. With its promising durability, minimalist design, and MagSafe compatibility, I share how well I think this Kevlar-reinforced case aligns with my aesthetic and protective needs.
▶️ If you own Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7, the new Benks ArmorVichy Kevlar case is a smart way to protect it without adding bulk.
▶️ It’s slim, lightweight, and feels good and grippy in the hand, while still giving solid protection thanks to its Kevlar build. A raised edge shields the camera lenses, and it works with MagSafe for easy charging.
▶️ It’s not the cheapest option and doesn’t cover the front screen, but if you value style, practicality, and everyday durability, it’s well worth considering.
First Impressions
Design & Feel
Out of the box, the Benks ArmorVichy case strikes an impressive balance – ultra-slim, lightweight (just 23.5 g), yet offering a tactile welcome thanks to the textured Kevlar weave. The minimalist silhouette gives it a refined, fashionable look, with case cut-outs for the USB-C port, speaker, volume, etc, are accurately cut in the right places.
In-hand, it feels secure with enough grip to ward off accidental slips without compromising the Flip 7’s sleek symmetry.
Material & Build
This case showcases DuPont's Kevlar fibre as its core material, enhanced with a blend of magnet, aluminium alloy, polycarbonate, and polyurethane. At just 1.4 mm thick, it achieves impressive protection without bulk — an essential attribute for a foldable device where weight and thickness really do matter.
Kevlar provides outstanding impact resistance, scratch and heat resilience, and structural integrity that rivals bulkier alternatives.
Protection & Functionality
The case fits snugly onto the Flip 7, secured in place with adhesive strips to keep case and phone firmly connected.
The raised Kevlar case edge ring surrounding the two lenses on the cover screen provides an elegant yet essential protective buffer, offering peace of mind.
A Note on MagSafe
Although MagSafe is an Apple technology, Benks has added a MagSafe-compatible magnetic ring to this case. Samsung phones already support Qi wireless charging – the same standard Apple uses – and the magnet simply improves the experience. It's also in line with Benks' inclusion of MagSafe in its wide range of cases and other accessories for different iPhone models.
With the Benks case on, it helps the Z Flip 7 snap into the right position on a charger, making charging more reliable. It opens up compatibility with the wide range of MagSafe accessories on the market, from chargers and power banks to car mounts.
It’s not essential – the phone charges wirelessly without it – but it’s a small convenience that can make daily use smoother.
Hinge Cover
The Z Flip 7’s hinge is the phone’s most exposed moving part, so it’s reassuring that Benks has designed the case to extend protection here as well.
The ArmorVichy’s hinge cover adds a slim shield without impeding the fold. It doesn’t feel bulky, and in day-to-day use I’ve found it doesn’t get in the way of opening and closing the phone.
It’s more about scratch and scuff protection than cushioning against hard knocks – but for a foldable, that’s a practical trade-off that preserves the phone’s elegant profile.
Community Impressions
It’s always useful to look beyond the spec sheet and hear what other owners are saying. In the r/galaxyzflip sub-Reddit, early adopters of the Benks case for the Z Flip 7 have shared encouraging feedback:
“I’ve just installed the new Benks ArmorVichy Case built with Kevlar on my new Z Flip 7. I think it may be the best case I’ve used…”
“It looks very nice with hinge protection and MagSafe magnet built in… looks so svelte.”
“The fit is great… the hinge protection mechanism works better than I thought… it has a lot more texture… light + thin.”
These positive comments reflect my own views.
One other Reddit user mused on the Kevlar protection:
"Kevlar will do a great job providing scratch resistance but I'm not sure how well it absorbs and protects providing good impact resistance."
It's a good point. The case is strongly made but very slim. I'm confident that if I drop the phone on the floor it will hold up well. Still, if you want more solid protection, there are plenty of other cases that will give you that in a highly-rugged package. You'll lose the slim, minimalist fashionable look, though.
Not all reviews are glowing; one customer on the Benks website noted:
“Does not fit securely on the outside screen. Won’t even stay on, slides off. Very disappointed…”
That's a rare criticism, though. Taken together, all these comments suggest the Benks cover delivers on its promise of slim, stylish protection and satisfaction for most users.
Overall Pros & Cons
Pros
- Exceptionally slim and lightweight – at just 1.4mm thick, it adds hardly any bulk to the Flip 7.
- Kevlar construction crafts a robust yet elegant shell.
- Slim hinge cover offers scratch protection without adding bulk.
- No issues at all with wireless charging the phone with the case on.
- MagSafe compatibility with good magnetic retention.
- Raised lens edge protects camera lenses elegantly.
- Surface texture adds grip and resists smudges.
Cons
- No protection for the front screen: consider pairing with a screen protector (Benks makes one for the Z Flip 7).
- Limited drop protection compared to more rugged cases.
- Once installed, the case is quite difficult to remove – which can be a benefit as it means it won’t accidentally slip off.
- Not the lowest-cost option on the market ($46.99 on the Benks website at the date of this review).
Who Is This For?
If you love foldable phones but dislike the clunky feel of most reinforced cases, you will be delighted with this Benks case: I am. It’s ideal for users seeking elegant protection, a lightweight feel, and smooth MagSafe integration, especially if you’re mindful of form matching function.
Final Thoughts
The case fitted to the Z Flip 7: slim, strong and stylish.
The Benks ArmorVichy Kevlar case for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 feels like a natural evolution from the Kevlar-built Benks case for the Z Flip 5 that I reviewed in 2023. It combines the slim, elegant and lightweight design I value with added touches such as camera-lens protection and MagSafe compatibility. Community feedback shows that many Flip 7 owners share these positive impressions.
For me, the balance of style, practicality, and everyday durability makes this case an easy recommendation. It looks stylish, feels secure in the hand, and gives me confidence it will do what it’s designed for – protecting my phone while looking good in the process.
Finally, a Packaging Detail

Benks includes a small plastic inlay card in the box, printed with the “ArmorVichy” checkerboard design and an Eiffel Tower motif. It doesn’t have a functional role in protecting the phone, but I think it underlines how Benks wants this case to be seen: not just as a piece of protection, but as part of a design story.
The use of Vichy plaid, tied to a French aesthetic, signals a deliberate choice to position the case as stylish as well as practical — a subtle bit of brand storytelling woven into the unboxing experience.
And what of the simplified Chinese characters on the plastic card?
线条源于生活的美好回响
格纹是时光打磨的艺术
每一寸格纹
都在讲述一个优雅的故事
With some help from Google Translate, the meaning in English is:
Lines are the beautiful echoes of life. Plaid is an art honed by time. Every inch of plaid tells an elegant story.
It’s poetic marketing language, reinforcing the “Vichy plaid” theme and the brand’s intent to link the case with style, heritage, and elegance.
Including such a branded decorative inlay card (sometimes also used as a collector’s-style insert) reinforces the sense that you’re buying something stylish and carefully designed, not just a functional case. It’s similar to how luxury brands sometimes add postcards or art cards in packaging.
Is this included in every box? I have no inside knowledge on that; the only way to discover if it is is to buy a case!
